OCCUPATION 101

Occupation 101 in Dublin & Prague

Three Case Studies

The immediate and long term effects of occupation will be studied through the lens of the British occupation of Ireland and the German and Soviet occupations of then Czechoslovakia. Societal, economic, environmental and political changes will be evaluated including study of the historical framework leading to each colonization and occupation and the subsequent effects on the affected populations. When possible, representative survivors will be available for personal testimonials and answer questions.

Global Impact

Students will be able to understand the complex global ramifications of sustained occupation and translate similar policies and their sequelae to populations world wide.
